Dr. Amarilis Jacobo, DDS, General Dentistry in Private Practice, President of the Hispanic Dental Association

Dr. Amarilis Jacobo is one of the most respected leaders of the Dominican Dental Association, and the Hispanic Dental community.  Dr. Jacobo is working with the New York State Dental Association to ensure the continuation and development of the New York State’s Medical Program -the primary vehicle through which the underserved population receives Dental services.  She received her Dental training at the University of Central East, San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic, with post-graduate training from New York University.
Dr. Jacobo presides over several well-accredited organizations at the local and state level, including the Hispanic Dental Associations and the Bronx County Dental Society, and is a member of the House of Delegates for the New York State Dental Association Ethnic Committee.  She has also presided over the Dominican Dental Association.  Dr Jacobo is very committed to the community.  As a way to give back to society, she visits elementary schools, promoting oral hygiene on Give Kids Smile Day and attends high school career fairs. In addition, since 1992 she has been visiting different parts of the Dominican Republic providing free dental services.  She has recently sponsored the project “Education Free of Cavities”, building a dental clinic on the Astin Jacobo Middle School grounds, located at Ingenio Consuelo, San Pedro de Macoris.  Most importantly, Dr. Jacobo is a mentor and role model to young Dentists of all nationalities.
